You can’t deny that this attention-getting sofa is a statement piece. However, not everyone likes it. In fact, some people love it while others hate it. Let’s look at the pros and cons.
Pros of this Mid Century Futon Sofa:

Going into this purchase, understand this couch is a low-priced convertible futon. In order to keep costs affordable and provide the versatility of a fold-down bed, these sofas don’t typically give you deluxe cushioning. Or heavy-duty durability for that matter.
For example, don’t plan on letting your kids jump around on this futon. Plus, don’t expect the tufted upholstery to feel like a pillow top bed.
I suggest getting an inexpensive piece of memory foam because it will also protect the upholstery of your futon when guests sleep on it. Of course, if you are like me and prefer a firm sleeping surface, you don’t have to worry about this.
2. Not Very Easy to Clean
You can’t unzip the cushion covers and throw them in the washing machine. In other words, take extra care to not spill your drinks and food on the sofa.

3. Unfinished Futon Back
Convertible futons don’t usually have the finished back, due to the need to fold down flat. Therefore, you are more limited as to where you can locate them. For example, most people don’t want to expose the backside and push them up against a wall.
Designer Trick: I like to push my sofas out from the wall a bit and place a long, tall console table behind them. This gives you a spot for lamps and other decor, plus you can set your drink there, keep remotes out of the way. Look for a table about 30″ tall.
