Do you want to add some midcentury style to your living room without spending a lot of money? The Chloe mid century modern futon adds timeless, sophisticated style at a low price. Plus, it also turns into a bed…
The Chloe Futon Sofa VS Other Futons and Couches:
Unlike other convertible futons, the Chloe features unique chevron stitching on the backrest. In addition, the sofa has tapered mid-century style wooden legs.
Together, these qualities give the futon a more elegant, upscale look. Not to mention, the upholstered armrests make the sleeper look more like a sofa. As you can see, it is classy enough to use in a living room.
And compared to traditional couches, this “click-clack” futon folds flat to a bed. Furthermore, you can recline the backrest to a lounging position. You can even move each seat back separately.
Note: The Chloe, like most convertible futons, has a more compact size than traditional sofas. This can be an advantage (perfect for small rooms, easy to move, doesn’t take up lots of space).
On the other hand, the backrest is not tall, and the seats are not extra-deep. Plus, you give up pillow-like cushioning that high end cloud style sofas have.
Pros and Cons of Using this Futon for Sleeping:
I really like convertible futons because they are so easy to set up as a bed. For instance, it takes 5 seconds to recline each seatback, and you’re ready to add bedding.
Plus, it requires even less time to remove the bedding and convert the bed back into a sofa. Not to mention, the entire sofa weighs less than 100 lbs, so one person can easily move it.
Having said that, click-clack futons don’t provide the ideal sleeping surface. For one, they have awkward down the middle and center of the cushioning. And two, they typically offer less cushioning than a traditional coil spring or foam mattress.
For those reasons, I think that this style of sleeper sofa is a better value for people who sit on them more frequently than they sleep on them. In fact, this futon sofa can be a great deal even if you never sleep on it at all.
The Advantage of 8″ Tall Sofa Legs:
The tall tapered legs not only add to the mid-century style of this couch, they also make it easier to clean the floor underneath. Plus, they allow the seat to sit at a comfortable 17″ height while still having a slim design.
Sleeper Sofa Comes in 6 Different Colors:
This vintage style couch conveniently comes in a variety of rich and neutral colors. Therefore, your sofa can make a bold statement in a room, or you can choose a tone that blends with your existing furniture.
Colors include light grey, antique gold, classic blue, dark grey, deep teal and old rosa red.
Of course, the stylish velvet upholstery with chevron stitching can easily stand on its own. However, you can add extra cozy-ness throw pillows and blankets.
These 18″ x 18″ velvet pillow covers come in 4-packs (and multiple color options) and work well with the tones of the upholstery. Plus, they’re velvet.
Then, get 18″ x 18″ pillow inserts to match (or size up to 20″x x 20″ inserts for a fuller pillow).
