Do you want a sophisticated-looking contemporary sofa – with versatility of a convertible futon? Cosmopolitan and Wayfair have come together to produce 3 CosmoLiving Futons that give you a lot of value in 1 piece of furniture. (Now you just need to choose one!)
First of all, each of these 3 futons feature a multifunctional split-back design. In other words, the backrest reclines from sofa to lounger to flat bed positions. Plus, each side moves independently.
As a result, these plush upscale-looking sofas give you lots of versatility in how you use them. Get both style and function – and save some money at the same time. =)
By the way, all 3 of these futons cost between $500 and $600. (A good price, considering you get both a sofa AND a bed, with free shipping.)
1. Vivian CosmoLiving Futon Sofa:
The Cosmopolitan Vivian Futon caught me eye because of its modern, minimalistic style. Also, the industrial exposed metal legs give it an unusual distinctive look.
In addition, I like its soft, velvety upholstery. However, the boxy-shaped armrests won’t feel as soft, so plan on getting some throw pillows if you want more cushioning.
Note: The width of the futon bed measures 43.5″ across, which falls between the size of a twin and full size mattress. Therefore, this futon may be better suited to sleep one person rather than 2 people.

2. CosmoLiving Adley Sofa Bed:
Although the Adley convertible futon doesn’t come in the light gray color, you can get it black. Some people might even say it looks like a dark charcoal grey, depending on the home furnishings used around it.
This couch differs from the Vivian futon above in that it has more substantial armrests. Plus, it features rounder seat cushions, arms and backrests.
Personally, I think that the curved shape makes the Adley look more cozy. In fact, some people might mistake it for a sofa versus a futon.
Note: In addition, this upgraded futon contains coils, which make it more comfortable for sleeping. It also gives you an extra inch when laid flat as a bed (44.5″ wide). The price is also slightly higher.
3. CosmoLiving Arabelle Futon:
Compared to the Vivian or Adley sofas above, the Arabelle futon features a more elegant, Victorian style with its uniquely-shaped legs. In addition, it has vertical upholstery stitching, which elongates its height visually.
Just like the models above, the Arabelle has soft velvet upholstery that makes it feel luxurious. Not to mention, the plush fabric adds to the sofa’s classy look as well.
Note: Overall, you could easily disguise any of these futons as a couch due to their sophisticated styling. I like that. And although I can’t say that I recommend any of them for sleeping 2 people, they do a great job of fitting in small spaces.
Therefore, if you have a loft space, home office or spare bedroom, these velvet futons could give you an easy way to to add class and style without overwhelming the room. (Or, spending a lot of money.)
